3abc16d3ff chore: no longer based on QMainWindow 
Since most of the features that QMainWindow offered will never be
used in this program. We don't need a statusbar, a menubar, etc.

* ci: bump Qt version to Qt 5.15.2
* don't build expat example for expat
* set CC and CXX variable
